Hi, I'm Jenny, and I've written a book!!
Having been a writer of ceremonies, speeches, and poetry for almost 15 years, I knew I had a book in me, but it took a while to figure out what it would be about.
Channelling my creative writing skills and a passion for empowering women, I chose to write short, powerful stories that focused on the connection between people.
Having shorter stories means the book can easily be picked up and put down, read whenever time allows and in any order.
My debut novel, "Encounters" is available now on Amazon as a paperback.
(The ebook will follow in early March 2026.)
So, how did I get here?
Well, I had the urge to go for it in the summer of 2025, and after mapping out my ideas for the collection of short stories and having some great conversations with fellow authors, I started to put pen to paper. . .literally! I did it the 'old-fashioned' way and used a large ring-bound notebook to store all of my plot ideas, and then slowly converted them to a typed manuscript.
I learnt a lot of lessons along the way, things like how to master the art of managing plots, character details and twists, and also that I needed to allow a lot of time for the editing, proofreading and uploading of the documents online.
Self-publishing is not an easy thing to do, but it is very rewarding! To know that I have written every single word, and also designed my book cover myself, is a huge moment of pride for me, and I am beyond excited to be able to share it all with you.
