About Me as an Author
I’m Jenny, a wife, mum to teenagers, owner of a wedding celebrant business since 2014, and now published author.
As I entered my fifties (back in 2024), I knew that as much as I loved writing couples’ love stories for ceremonies, I wanted to write a book, and the idea kept gnawing away at me!
In the summer of 2025, after mapping out my ideas for a collection of short stories and having some great conversations with fellow authors, I started putting pen to paper... literally! I did it the 'old-fashioned' way and used a large ring-bound notebook to store all of my plot ideas, and then slowly converted them to a typed manuscript.
I learnt a lot of lessons along the way, including that self-publishing is not an easy thing to do, but it is very rewarding! To know that I have written every single word, and also designed my book covers and merchandise myself, is a huge moment of pride for me, and I am beyond excited to be able to share it all with you.
As an author, I am inspired by people, situations, experiences, and what is going on around me. I write with the burning desire to champion women, especially as we age, and to ensure that everyone feels visible, valued, and desired. My characters are all over 40, and experiencing all of life’s struggles, triumphs, and personal growth journeys. I want my readers to know that they aren’t alone and that if they are open to it, exciting adventures await.
